This afternoon, Real Sociedad played their first important game of the pre-season against Eibar at Ipurua. The realistas, who wore the new way kit by Macron for the first time, won 2-3 in a vibrant and intense game.
The txuri-urdin team started strong with Juanmi having the first chance of the night. However, his shot went wide. In the 32nd minute, Luca Sangalli broke the deadlock with a shot from outside the box. Real were taking the lead and were close to add their second trough Aritz and Mikel Oyarzabal but neither of the two succeeded in scoring.
In the second, changes to the squads were made by both teams and the match became very exciting. Pere Milla had a chance to score but Zubiaurre sent the ball to the corner flag. After the corner kick, Eibar drew through Kike García who ran onto a loose-ball to volley in. The referee eventually signalled for a VAR review and the goal was finally given to Eibar. Soon, Real got back in the game with a goal by David Concha who was assisted by Zaldua. Nevertheless, the joy did not last and Eibar scored the equalizer through Jordán. There was a high level of intensity and in an evenly-contested game. In the last minute, Capilla scored the winning goal which gave Real the win.
The match was a good test for Real and the supporters who visited Ipurua to watch the game between the two teams from Guipúzcoa. Real continue their pre-season. Our next friendly against Real Unión will take place at Azkoitia on July 25.
